War ISTurkish dissent
Turkey and Washington are apparently willing to sacrifice the peace process with the Kurds to fight against the Islamic state. Europe sees it differently. A comment.

Turkey's entry into the war on "Islamic state" has led to a split in the same weekend of the West: From Washington's understanding to hear that Erdogan not only the IS acts, but also the Kurdish fighters of the PKK. In Europe, however, Ankara is criticized for this double blow, by the German Government as well as by the EU. This is in a difficult strategic situation, the implications far beyond the countries directly concerned addition, a fairly massive dissent. Apparently, Americans and Europeans have once again quite different ideas about what ends justify which means.

For the American government, especially the military advantage is important to offer Turkey's participation in the air war against the IS. Because so the band could be more difficult to operate in northern Syria, where one of the biggest weaknesses of the American strategy is. It would be better if this transatlantic dissent would not taken to extremes.The PKK is a terrorist organization, it has been banned in Germany.Therefore, one should not in principle be denied the right to practice military retaliation against the organization Ankara. Perfect solutions do not exist in this multi-front war anyway. Ultimately, for the Europeans combating IS the moment priority. The state of their own, which the PKK would have liked, the IS has already. The great danger that emanates from him is that he wants to export its violence and its ideology in Western societies.
