Built in 1903, the stretch features row homes that are actually quite spacious, with this one weighing in at 3,000 square feet. It features some interesting architectural detail and Prairie-esque interiors and is just a short walk from the University of Chicago campus. As the of the stretch implies, this is one that will require a tenured professor's salary to purchase.
Fab Tiny House Lets You Keep Your Big Ol' Oven and Bathtub
All photos via Escape Traveler
From the folks that created Escape, the much- hyped RV that doesn't look anything like an RV, comes a sweet new spin-off model calledEscape Traveler. The 269-square-foot mobile dwelling is kind of like a tiny house on training wheels. While many people join the tiny house movement to downsize and live simply, this new model makes the already gorgeously-finished space even easier to warm up to with full-size kitchen appliances and a standard 60-inch bathtub.
Another Transit-Oriented Development Coming to Logan Square
Developers are hot on Logan Square and according to a new notice, one developer is planning 101 more apartments for the northwest side neighborhood. At the moment, not much is known about the proposal, but according to an Everyblock user, Alderman Proco Joe Moreno will be hosting a meeting at his office on Wednesday, July 15 at 6 p.m. Unfortunately, project specifications and renderings are not listed on the alderman's website or really anywhere else, but the plan proposes101 rental units, 44 vehicle parking spaces and 44 bicycle parking spaces in the form of a seven-story building at 2835-45 West Belden. The breakdown means that this project is seeking to utilize the city'stransit-oriented development ordinance to cut down the number of parking spaces. The property lies along the 'L' tracks near the California Blue Line station and will become yet another major apartment proposal for the neighborhood.

Sweet Two Bedroom Logan Square Timber Loft Wants $369K
This top floor two bedroom, two bathroom timber loft is located just a stone's throw from the new 606 trail and can be had for $369,900. It's on the southeast corner of the Logan Square neighborhood and just a short walk from the Western Blue Line station. It sports the ubiquitous granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, but it's also got a nice rooftop deck and includes parking for two vehicles. While the loft itself is really nice, the price might not be super competitive. For example, one can find a similar two bed, two bath timber loft in the West Loop for about the same price. However, for those who want to live next to the Bloomingdale Trail and need parking, this is definitely one worth considering.
See the World in This 174-Square-Foot Off-Grid Caravan
When it comes to ingenious small-space design, there are loads of options that allow city dwellers to maximize space in necessarily compact apartments. But tiny living isn't just for the world's urban denizens; it's an eco-conscious way to live at all scales, in all types of environments. The Wohnwagon, a caravan produced by Austrian manufacturers, is a solution for the adventuresome lovers of small-space design among us—those who'd rather take their near-ascetic affection for living minimally on the road. The caravan comes in three sizes, starting at just 174 square feet and is designed for use entirely off-grid. It self sustains via rooftop solar panels and collects and uses rainwater. It also features a composting toilet.

Short Film Highlights Quirky Magic Shop in Lincoln Square
If you've ever passed through Lincoln Square while riding your bike or driving down Western Avenue, you might have noticed a bright red retail space near the corner of Argyle and Western. In The Amazing Mr. Ash, filmmaker Brian Gersten tells the story of the quirky store and its owner, Ashod Baboorian. An Iraqi-Armenian emigrant, Baboorian opened Ash's Magic Shop in 1985, and today it remains one of the few brick and mortar stores in Chicago for magicians and fans of magic. Viewers discover that Baboorian is a bit of an oddball, but also hilarious and uniquely Chicago.

Lake Forest New Construction Packs a Lot of Look, Asks $3.7M
Though it looks like it could be an old home designed by Howard Van Doren Shaw or David Adler, this four bedroom, four bathroom home in Lake Forest is actually a new construction. The interior is also highly stylized—if not a little busy in some instances. Ok, it's a lot busy. According to the listing agent, this home was featured recently in Elle Decor for its interiors. The home has a really neat courtyard and landscaped grounds which look and feel like the North Shore. It hits the market this week asking $3.695 million.

In Beverly, a Fully Renovated Frank Lloyd Wright Gem Lists for $750K
Frank Lloyd Wright homes aren't exactly rare in the Chicago area, but this is one of the rare few Wright homes for sale within Chicago city limits. Located on a quiet street in the Beverly neighborhood, this large four bedroom, two and a half bathroom home has been fully renovated and can be had for $749,900. Known as the H. Howard Hyde House, the 2,500 square foot home and its landscaped lawn were recently featured on house walk in Beverly and revealed to the public for the first time. While not exactly a prefabricated house, this Chicago landmark is one of the American System-Built Houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It's been over 15 years since this home was last available, but this Prairie School gem can be yours today for well under a million bucks.
Top Floor Two Bed, Two Bath in East Humboldt Park Asks $240K
The city's northwest side is rapidly changing and the greater West Town community area is one of the most popular places to buy. This two bedroom, two bathroom unit is located on the top floor of its building, has in-unit laundry, a front balcony, back porch and is asking just $239,900. It's nowhere near an 'L' station, but it is well within walking distance from popular restaurants and nightlife spots. No parking is included, and the homeowners association dues aren't going to break the bank.
Blue Star to Relaunch Former CPS Building as 'The National'
Images via The National, Chicago
After buying the former Chicago Public Schools headquarters building at 125 South Clark last year for a mere $28 million, Blue Star Properties is preparing to relaunch the building as a high-end office building featuring both loft and modern spaces as well as a new name: The National. The 1907 building designed by the legendary Daniel Burnhambut hasn't gotten much love since CPS moved in ages ago. Blue Star is spending millions on a rehab project to modernize the interior of the building to provide the amenities that commercial tenants are looking for, from higher ceilings to high-speed fiber and even the seemingly-required rooftop deck.
