MY VIDEO; FIRE MUSEUM BLOCK PARTY--WHICH I ALMOST MISSED!

I almost missed the Block Party today ( confusing story, including massive foul up on subway)

By the time I got there, it had begun to rain a little and it was a little late in the day, but a lot was still going on

They were still showing kids how the ambulance was set up--

They were still showing people how to do CPR

The Interior of the Museum was open, no admission charge today

And they were telling people about EMS work and other activities

Was also happy to see the Museum Volunteer workers on hand, such as FDNY Lt. John Kenny, Retired-- great guide and source of information; I sure hope they get his stories on the Oral History Project the Fire Museum will be doing ( John is a veteran of the "War Years" when the Bronx was burning and then on the Lower East Side)

The Museum is going to be refurbished and expanded on a grand scale in the next year or two, to become a real World Class place ( it is among the biggest Fire Museums in the World and probably the best known)

And there was the FDNY special 150th Anniversary Fire Rig

Plus music and more outdoor games for kids..
