Fire Engineering- Massive Fire in Corolla NC

MASSIVE FIRE DESTROYS SEVERAL BUILDINGS IN COROLLA (NC)

A massive fire that started in a commercial building brought firefighters from across the Outer Banks to Corolla Friday night to battle the fire, reports 13newsnow.com.
According to a spokesperson for Currituck County, the fire started at around 7:15 p.m. in the Brindley Beach Center on Ocean Trail, which is what N.C. Rte. 12 is named in that area.
The fire was then driven by high winds, causing two homes to the north to also catch fire.
The spokesperson said there are no reported injuries. He also said that Ocean Trail/Rte. 12 was completely closed in that area of Corolla due to the amount of equipment being used.
Fire stations fighting the fire include the Corolla Volunteer Fire Department, the Lower Currituck Volunteer Fire Department, the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department and the Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department from Dare County.
