Violent clashes at a gay rights march in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, have left five officers injured and resulted in some 20 arrests.
A small group of far-right protesters tried to disrupt the event - only the second gay pride march in a country where conservative attitudes remain strong.
Dramatic images show the protesters fighting running battles with police, while gay rights supporters demonstrate peacefully behind a wall of police.
