Bad weather can cause outages. We're prepared. Here's how you can be ready, too: |
|
1. | Report power problems right away at 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633)or conEd.com, or with our My conEdison app for Droid or Apple devices. |
2. | Check our outage map to verify whether we know about your power problem. |
3. | Sign up for our text message service by texting REG to OUTAGE (688243). Then, if you lose power, text OUT to OUTAGE. Get details |
4. | Make sure your flashlights and battery-operated radios work. |
5. | If you lose power, turn off lights and unplug appliances so circuits don’t overload when power is restored. |
6. | Stay clear of downed power lines – they may be live and dangerous. |
7. | Use candles and lanterns carefully. Keep them out of drafts, away from flammable materials, and out of the reach of children. |

Remember, if you smell gas, act fast. Call 911 or 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633).
