02-02-2015, Watch MPs expose Mordaunt’s lies in the Commons debateTo all London FBU branches Watch MPs expose Mordaunt's lies in the Commons debate Further to our previous communication which reported on the unravelling of the fire minister’s ‘guarantee’ that firefighters over the age of 55 would receive an unreduced pension if they fail a fitness test, a number of MPs took the opportunity to press the minister during DCLG questions in the House of Commons today. During the discussion, and despite the bluster and waffle of the minister, it became blindingly apparent that her ‘guarantee’ is utterly worthless. The show featured an interview with the FBU’s Ben Sprung, which was followed by an interview with Conservative LFEPA member Tony Arbour, who waffled and floundered under penetrative questioning by the show’s presenter Iain Dale (himself a Conservative supporter).
