FDNY EMS Competition Team Honored
Lieutenant Kevin Ramdayal, Lieutenant James Faller, Paramedic Joseph Fortis, Paramedic Joseph Hudak, Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro, Chief of Department James Leonard, Paramedic David Cadogan, Paramedic Randy Li and Paramedic Eddy Perez.
Seven members of the FDNY’s EMS Competition team have won 39 city, state, national and international competitions since they organized in 2000, and on March 13, they were honored for their dedication and exceptional work.
“Thank you for how well you did and how well you represent the Department every year,” Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro said.
The honored team members included Paramedic Joseph Fortis, Station 14 (team captain); Lieutenant Kevin Ramdayal, EMS BOT (acting team captain); Paramedic Joseph Hudak, Station 4; Paramedic Eddy Perez, MEU; Paramedic David Cadogan, Station 26; Paramedic Randy Li, Station 27; and Lieutenant James Faller, retired.
“You are truly the best in the world,” Chief of Department James Leonard said. “We are proud to pahve people of your caliber working for the Department.”
Most recently, the team won the JEMS International competition in Baltimore, Maryland, on Feb. 28.
EMT Fortis, one of the team’s founding members, said he was proud of their accomplishments over the years.
“Team FDNY is considered one of the best competition teams in the world,” he said. “They are great partners, team members and family.”
