France - Top French chef Alain Ducasse 'goes vegetarian'

I agree Mary. I looked at the menu on the website and indeed, there is little, almost no choice, for a vegetarian. The French are boasting at their innovation and breaking the French mould by venturing into the world of vegetarianism but they are clearly still a LONG way off understanding the concept at all. Such a shame. We don't need a total veggie restaurant, just some top class vegetarian choices on the menu please. The UK is soooooo far ahead on this stuff.

France - France launches investigation into 'jihadists' back from Syria

This ISIL uprising is not another "one off" nor the end of a long running and ongoing age-old Islamic crusade that began in the 7th century. The West will never be able to defend nor protect themselves until they fully understand what they are up against. Un petit rappel d'histoire (de Charles Martel), jamais étudié à l'école peut-être?

France may send tanks and troops across the border to protect the separatists in the event the Madrid junta take military action. The U.K. and the U.S. may deploy special forces along the French border to support Spain territorial integrity., and call for trade sanction against French interests.

France - French PM demands end to ‘unbearable’ Air France strike

I'm one of those annoying passengers/clients - a piece of "self loading freight" that ultimately pays Air France pilot's salaries. I've been very loyal to Air France for many years to the extent that they've rewarded me with Gold Card status. However, everyone should be aware that, henceforth, I'll do everything I can to avoid Air France flights and will be moving all of my ticket purchases to the Middle Eastern based carriers. At least they can be counted on. Air France pilots should know that I'm not alone in taking his action, many of my colleagues have also vowed to do the same.

France - French PM demands end to ‘unbearable’ Air France strike

14,000 EURO par mois. Co-pilot.. Imagine how much they pay un Commandant de bord. And they're not afraid of fighting for their obscene priviledges? Let Air France sack them and hire willing US highly qualified pilots looking for a job. France needs to move on. The all invasive French left is pulling the country backwards. It is a fact that we, in France, don't want American capitalism to destroy our way of life. But the over-priviledged Air-France employees, SNCF workers, teachers, pharmacists, and all the civil servants in the "corridors of power" need to come to the realities of the world. You don't change the system by refusing the acknowledge the economics of your time. You've got to work within the framework of the realities of our world; like it or not. And I don't like it. But KNOW when you are doing more harm than good.

  • France - The next step on the jihadist trail: a tough return home

France - The next step on the jihadist trail: a tough return home

This is a very complex situation. 1.Among the returning Islamists, there are, almost certainly, committed terrorists, who represent a danger to innocents here in Europe. 2. Among the returning Islamists, there are, unquestionably, fanatics committed to an incompatible salaphist ideology. 3. Among the returning Islamists, there are, surely, victims of brainwashing, who are greatly relieved to have survived their misadventure in Syria. 4. Among the returning Islamists, there are, most probably, a few newly enlightened souls who have gained wisdom from their exposure to the evil of fanaticism These young men and women are among the most valuable potential peer-educators available to enlist in the fight against anti-humanist ideologies. The question is one of discernment. Is there anyone wise enough to tell which is which and who is what? Security, must come first. Initially they must all be treated as potential terrorists; BUT that treatment much be sufficiently enlightened to offer a glimmer of hope so that they can be appropriately refined to remove the mercury and keep the silver and gold. I ask again, is there anyone in France with the wisdom to accomplish that task? While, in general, I am not a big fan of Saudi Arabian public policy, it appears that the Saudis have done a better job of the reintegration and rehabilitation of terrorists than anyone else. Their methods and results should be studied, to help create an effective French approach to this complex problem.
