WNYC Science Fair, Vol. 3

7:00 PM

How far have we come in developing artificial intelligence?

Netflix thinks it knows what you want to watch, and Facebook’s got software data mining your life to predict your future. Robots can compete on gameshowsdrive carsattempt to be our personal assistants, and one lonely Austrian vacuum might have even committed suicide. We’ll find out whether the Singularity is nigh – and whether that should worry or delight us - with the people who are building the machines and writing the codes that will bring it on.

Join New Tech City's Manoush Zomorodi for an opportunity to see some cyborgs in action and join a conversation with scientists who are developing the technologies that will shape our future, including Hod Lipson, professor of engineering at Cornell University and director of its Creative Machines Lab.

This is the final installment of the WNYC Science Fair, a new series in The Greene Space that mixes your favorite public radio personalities with popular science, special performances and alcohol.
