GRAND BAY, Ala. — A firefighter responding to an accident on a highway was reportedly hit by a car.
WKRG reported that the Grand Bay (Ala.) firefighter was hit by a car near the 5-mile marker on Interstate 10 westbound around 3 a.m.
Officials did not know the firefighter’s condition, but he was taken to a hospital with a broken leg.
Rain likely played a factor in the incident. Visibility was poor was heavy rains blanketed most of the roads in the area, according to the report.
