  • Brooklyn firefighters battled a stubborn 4 alarm blaze which destroyed one home and heavily damaged another. The fire at 1312 Glenwood Road was well advanced by the time firefighters arrived with flames consuming the home and spreading to the adjacent house. Five occupants recieved minor injuries, several firefighters were injured as wee, none seriously. The cause of the blaze is undetermined and is under investigation. The fire broke out on Glenwood Rd. in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn, early Thursday.

A four alarm fire left five people injured in Brooklyn Thursday morning, fire department officials said.
The three-story Ditmas Park home at 1312 Glenwood Rd. erupted in flames at about 4:40 a.m., a fire department spokesman said.

Five people were injured in the fire, the cause of which is under investigation.

Five people were taken to Kings County Hospital with minor injuries, the spokesman said.
Fire officials say 168 firefighters responded to the blaze, which was still burning more than two hours after it was sparked.
