  • Nick Barker Its Bognor Regis UK isnt it??!! Only kidding. I love the adventure of long hauls but the last two have been Korea and Australia so I'd maybe go for something a little bit closer to England. But not too close. Are we allowed to know who is competing when the bids are in, or is it a complete surprise til they open the magic gold envelope?

As the newly elected CEO of the World Firefighters Games I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of all of our friends and supporters to thank Trevor and Margie for the amazing job they have done over the past 25 years. I’m sure you will all join me in wishing them well in their retirement as we all know they have earned it.

My successor, John Hartley has been a member of the Association since 1996 and a Board Member of the Governing Body organisation for approximately 10 years and has the expertise and commitment required to take on the vital task of administering the Games. John has devoted many volunteer hours to the organisation and I have no doubt he will work laboriously to secure ...

5 Firefighters of the Gangwon Province Fire Service, Chuncheon City South Korea, were killed recently on their way back to their camp after they had finished their mission related to the Sewol Ferry accident. They sacrificed their lives to avoid the helicopter crashing into the downtown area to save citizens' lives. One of those who died was a very good friend of this Organization "Seong Cheol" (bottom left) and was a keen supporter of the World Firefighters Games. Our thoughts and prayers are with these five courageous men, their families, friends and their work colleagues. May you all rest in peace.

We recently sent out approx 10,000 emails to all former Games participants on our mailing list and by rights we should have received 10,000 replies back - not so!! To ensure the continuity of the Games, it is essential that ALL former and future participants email their name, email address and country of origin to worldfire@worldfirefightersgames.com. Completing this task will ensure we have your current contact details so that you receive important updates relating to future Games. Many thanks, World Firefighters Games Governing Body.

To all of those that are still travelling to the US after the debacle of LA 2104 we don't know if this can help due to your travel arrangments but the CAN-AM-Police-Fire Games are to be held in Pennsylvania (its on the East Coast) from July 13-20 as we said before LA was not our fault but we will do whatever we can to help our friends and followers. Please don't forget we need you to promote the interest for WFG 2016. .http://www.yorkcanamgames.com/
