As part of the year-long celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the FDNY, the Department today unveiled a new Life Safety Mascot – EMT Siren – as well as new ceremonial FDNY150 ambulance.
The EMT’s new life safety mascot is a doggone beauty.
EMT Siren is a chocolate Labrador decked out in an EMT jacket, helmet and stethoscope.
The cute-as-a-button mascot will help raise awareness about life-saving services at FDNY events and CPR training classes.
Officials are hoping Siren will be as popular as the FDNY’s fire safety mascot — a Dalmation named Hot Dog.
Siren was unveiled Friday as part of the year-long celebration of the 150th anniversary of the FDNY.
The department also debuted a new ceremonial ambulance, which features the city’s iconic skyline painted in red, white and blue.
“Our new life safety mascot - EMT Siren - and this beautiful ambulance are a tribute to every paramedic, EMT and officer who provide unmatched emergency pre-hospital care to New Yorkers 24-hours a day," said Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro.
"As we celebrate this historic anniversary for the Department, Siren and the FDNY150 Ambulance will be proudly representing the FDNY in parades, at fire and life safety presentations, and community events throughout the year."
