Continuing our time-honored tradition, we are pleased to present the work of one of our outstanding students, Taylor Guerin, LMSW, who will be "supervised" by three of our senior faculty members. Each of the faculty members will present a unique point of view grounded in a different school of psychoanalytic thought.

Joan Erdheim, Ph.D., has been on the staff of the Training Institute for 40 years. Starting as a TI psychoanalytic student she's continued a committed affiliation as an instructor, training analyst, senior supervisor, TI Board Member and President of TI's Psychoanalytic Society. She is an instructor in the Supervision of the Psychotherapeutic Process program and has published a book review entitled The Supervisory Alliance: Facilitating the Psychotherapists Learning Experience. Dr. Erdheim has also enjoyed teaching TI's first and third year courses on Psychoanalytic Theory of Dreams, and second year courses Transference and Resistance.
Marc Wayne, LCSW, BCD, is a training analyst, faculty member, and senior supervisor at the Object Relations Institute for Psychoanalysis and the Training Institute for Mental Health. He was a former faculty member, senior supervisor, and training analyst at the Postgraduate Relations Institute and Director of Supervision at the Bronx Center for Community Services. He has conducted numerous professional workshops and classes at training institutes and hospitals on the treatment of schizoid states, multi-modal approaches to annihilation anxiety and disillusionment, self-psychology, and infant research theory. Marc Wayne has a private practice in psychoanalysis and supervision in Manhattan.
Robert Broad, Ph.D., is a psychologist/psychoanalyst. He has served on the faculty of the Training Institute of Mental Health and the Postgraduate Center as a teacher, training analyst and senior supervisor. Dr. Broad is also certified and an Approved Consultant in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Dr. Broad was the Senior Clinical Psychologist for 20 years at Mount Sinai Medical Center in the Speech and Hearing Center where he helped to develop the Center for Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit Disorders. Dr. Broad’s recent research focuses on trauma and the integration of psychological interventions for medical problems. He has presented and published over 40 papers on speech and language disorders, voice disorders, learning and attention deficit disorder, trauma, and an award winning paper on dissociative identity disorder. Currently he practices in New York City and Westport, Connecticut.
Taylor Guerin, LMSW, is a third year student in the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at the Training Institute for Mental Health.
