Twelve Days of Christmas....and Ducks in the Pond in Central Park
Very famously, there is a mention in Salinger's "Catcher in the Rye" where protaganist Stephen Caulfield wonders where the ducks in Central Park go in the winter.
Most of them stay put, because people come to feed them, which anyone can find out by just going to the park in the winter. I once went there in late January when it was arctic frigid, and the ducks were all huddled up in one small water area of the pond with tons of people throwing them bread crusts etc.
The following video shows the South End of Central Park, all the vehicles include horse drawn carriages mostly, and some kids feeding the ducks...
