8 dark film directors paired with their perfect Disney movie

Mashable confirmed on Tuesday that Tim Burton is attached to direct an upcoming live-action version of Disney's Dumbo — the animated film about an elephant with large ears who can fly.

While Burton is no stranger to Disney adaptations — he directed Alice and Wonderland, although was probably overshadowed by Johnny Depp's costume — it's still certainly an interesting choice for such a lighthearted film.

To coincide with Disney's choice to hire a director who will probably make their classic film a tad darker and more complicated, we've paired what we think are eight great, albeit slightly intense directors with their perfect Disney remake.
