Two large brown bats have been recovered from a container with wood after they stowed away on a ship bound for the port of Antwerp from America. As if by miracle one of the animals survived the twelve day journey without any food or drink!

Uganda reconsidering health care exodus

The Ugandan Health Minister Elioda Tumwesigye has said that the Ugandan Government is reconsidering its decision to send health care workers abroad. The move comes after Belgium suspended 11 million euros in international aid following concern about plans to dispatch some 300 Ugandan health care workers to Trinidad and Tobago in return for help in oil exploitation.

16/3/15 - One or more lanes of Flemish roads and motorways were closed on nearly 7,000 occasions last year. The figure has jumped over 1500 in only 5 years’ time.

Two dead and six injured in Antwerp road crash

Two people have been killed and six other injured in a road traffic accident on the Noorderlaan in Antwerp. The accident happened just 200 metres from the main Antwerp Fire Station. A fireman alerts his colleagues about the accident at around 8:50 and they went to scene immediately.

4,000 march “Together in Peace”

Almost 4,000 people from various religions marched together for peace in Brussels on Sunday afternoon. The idea behind the “Together in Peace” march was to bring together people from different faiths against mutual mistrust and terror.
