Everest avalanche won't deter Australian teenager from record attempt
A Queensland teenager hoping to become the youngest Australian to climb Mount Everest will continue her trek despite an avalanche that has killed at least 13 people. Some climbers have abandoned their mission up the 8,848-metre summit since Friday's avalanche, but Queensland's Alyssa Azar, 17, is determined to continue.
Ms Azar has already climbed some of the world's major peaks, including Mount Kilimanjaro, and if successful will become the second youngest woman ever to climb Mount Everest.
