Herald Square area ( so full of tourists because it is close to the Empire State Building) offers a lot of scenes of weekend diversity--

Man reading as if he were in a library somewhere. Of course, this place offers you the advantage of putting your feet up.
A lot of people like to sit this way, going back in my memory to the famous French philosopher Montaigne.
