Turning Broadway into a pedestrian plaza with tables and chairs in Herald Square has worked out remarkably well.Since NY is such a tourist city, guess adding amenities only makes sense.
As noted, Herald Square has one of the few public outdoor self-cleaning bathrooms...so many were promised at the start....which never happened.
Sure it was money. The recession has slowed down so many projects, and means teachers will be fired.
