Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Company

This is part of a chain that started out in California, it seems.

A little too much of a chain feel to it? It does not have the character of the Ritz Diner, say..

But we will listen to Yelpers..I would say they give it a fairly good rating...

It took me a few tries to figure out what I liked, but now I'm sold!  At first I was weirded out by the concept of powder to flavor my coffee, but it was actually fantastic (like a coffee milkshake without the calories).  I recommend the iced coffee with sugar free vanilla powder and skim milk.  I found that the vanilla with sugar was a little too sweet.

So excited to have the Coffee Bean in my neighborhood!  Yum!

So you mean to tell me I no longer have to be in LA to get my precious Coffee Bean?

It took me a while to get here since when I typically get coffee, I just rolled out of bed and walk across 2nd to the Dunkin Donuts closer to my place.  I finally decided to head over here on the first cool day in July and get my precious coffee.  This location is spacious and has plenty of seating indoors, as well as some tables outdoors.  I had already decided to just get an iced coffee with soy milk, no sugar, no vanilla, nothing fancy.  Service was quick and very friendly.  Literally every employee inside said hello and asked how my morning was going.  The coffee was good and just what I needed.  I need to check out their blended drinks before bumping up their rating.  Still nice to see a LA staple make its way to NY.

I only stopped by quickly to purchase a hazelnut iced coffee but was in there long enough to note the spacious and cozy vibe - very appealing for students or anyone studying for...anything!

My coffee took a little longer than I am used to to make, but it was sooo worth it! The hazelnut flavor was so distinct and refreshing, but I do believe there is a good amount of whole milk/creamer in it so it's not your average 5 cal coffee! Also love their crushed ice - it makes it taste like a little slushie :D deeeelish

CoffeeBean is going to take over the city!  I love how each of them seem to be the same but with a different twist on the blonde wood theme.  The space here is open and well lit with a wide variety of different sitting options (communal table with high chairs? low tables? benches along the window? You name it.)

Everyone is very friendly and sweet and oddly enough has less attitude as far as I can tell.  The other Coffee Bean employees seem to be a little 'hood, but this one has blended seamlessly with the bland politeness that is Murray Hill.

Also noted: their work space seems less haphazard and much cleaner than the others.

Loooooooove coffee Bean in LA. Thanks for coming to Murray hill. Good to know they're open this late on a Sunday.  However that being said I can't say I was 100% satisfied as my drink was not exactly the way it normally consistently is served in Los Angeles. However, that being said, i will be coming back to give them a second chance.

I was very disappointed by the chai tea latte. It was watery and lacked any flavor and I would never order it again. I was excited for this coffee shop to open because it's close to where I live.
Other than frequent loud "booms" as weights were dropped in the gym upstairs, the atmosphere was nice thanks to good music and a variety of seating options. I hope the rest of their drinks are better than their chai.

Starbuck's clone with similar offerings.  There are some pre-made lunch entrees.  The coffee, IMHO, is not as good as Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks.  Better than no coffee, but not worth going out of your way for.

The place itself is nice enough with lots of chairs and desks for studying (lots of students as well).  But the service is a little meh.  I ordered a $4 latte and when the cashier swiped my card he said there was some problem with the computer system which made it take a long time to approve the transaction.  Apparently this affects the music/internet too, because the music on the speakers in the store kept stopping like there was a power surge or something.  But he swiped my card a few more times to see if it would work and finally I just gave him a different card which did end up working.  BUT, after I went to check my account for the first card I found out that I got charged 5 TIMES!  I went back to ask for a refund and the manager swiped my card yet again and I thought it was fixed.  Checked my account again when I got home and yep, instead of getting a refund, he just charged my card a sixth time.

I don't know what's going on with their computers/registers/internet but they need to fix it.
