Lego Rockefeller Center

I don't want to see that there are no reviews for this store!!!

Well, they are here, and mostly good..

By the way, I read just recently that Lego has been "re-inventing" its merchandise, trying to get "back to basics" or something. I have no idea what that actually means... anyway

Love this store! Awesomely designed with huge lego structures and murals on the walls and ceiling.  Sometimes have the hard to find boxed sets in stock.  Definitely check out the Rock Center miniature display!

Take the kids. Take yourself. Take your parents. This place is just plain cool.

I loved all the different sets you can't buy in most toy stores, but wish the place was a bit bigger to deal with all the tourists.

The models of Roc and the big dragon are worth going in for. Just be prepared to look in all directions for the kids wandering the store picking out stuff to take home.

I feel like a kid again! On top of selling every Lego set in the market right now, they also have awesome displays! There is a display of the Rockefeller center and its skating rink and it looks pretty accurate.  This place is like a mini lego museum with different displays of things built by legos. They even sell individual pieces of Legos of every color and size, just in case you're missing a piece or some sort. It's a small adventure worth taking if you're in the area!

The eyes on my Brick Boys exploded when they saw the signs for this shop. But they soon grew disappointed with the: cramped space and small displays.

This place was so much fun! LEGOS!

There is practically a lego for everything here! It's more than just a store, it's like a Lego museum. Definitely check it out even if you're just stopping in for a few minutes. It's one of the must-see's around the Rock.

I went on a Sunday right at 11am when they opened and it wasn't too busy, but by the time that we left it was getting pretty busy. The store was very clean and organized when we went in, but I'm not sure if it would be like that later in the day. The staff was also fresh faced and friendly right at opening. You should check it out early before things get crazed!

So I don't know how they did it but they managed to squeeze every single parent-child combo in the entire Eastern seaboard into this 2-story store.  Despite the crowds, the store was surprisingly clean and organized and the crowd control of the checkout line was well done.  The selection, while large was probably as good or slightly worse that the big toy stores like FAO Schwartz and Toys R Us in Times Square.

I wouldn't recommend going on a Saturday during the holidays but when you really need a florescent orange Lego, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Who doesn't like Legos? Okay, maybe the parent who steps on a lone piece crossing the room but do not let that spoil the memories these things will add to childhood.

See the amazing large displays and shop around for something to take home. Old, young, or somewhere in between the kits will give hands more exercise than a video game any day.

This place is really neat. A bit overpriced, but hey, it's the Lego Store. They have a giant dragon made of bricks hanging from the ceiling. They have a crazy display of Rockefeller Center with EVERY LEGO GUY EVER made of bricks. They had an Atlas made of bricks.

Plus, they had a pick-your-own station that was quite expansive. I shudder to think how many people have raked their fingers through those tubs, but I was browsing, not buying, so I was able to avoid the germ-bomb.

It's crowded and noisy, but the staff are very helpful. It was one of my favorite stops of the day.

Talk about a walk down memory lane. This is everything I ever dreamt of as a child - an entire room full of Lego!

They have all kinds of lego sets from popular series such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Ninjago, so on, to neat touristy sets that feature architecture from the city. They even have a large array of various legos that you can pick out on your own to create your own set. If only this place had existed when I was 10!

This store is massively crowded but the employees seemed pretty good at staying on top of cleanliness in the store and everything is well organized. A little pricey, but what can you expect? I come here to buy gifts for my little brother and he always loves it.

If you're on a budget, they have nice little lego key chains and miscellaneous goodies. You can't really pass it up.

I never knew how much I loved legos until I visited the lego store!  This is a huge store with all kinds of legos! There's a huge super COOL display of Rockefeller Center and it's surrounds.

A cool lego display of Atlas, a cool display of a few other things.  I like this place!

If you're looking for cool souvenirs there's even lego boxed sets of The Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and the beautiful Solomon R Guggenheim museum!

You can even buy your legos individually! Pick the pieces you want and put it into a bag, like a grab bag.
    • Atlas!
    • Rockefeller Center in Legos!
    • A bird's eye view of Rockefeller Center and a photo bomber.

So, the LEGO store is pretty awesome.  It reminded me of the M&M store with its ridiculously tall wall full of every Lego piece you could imagine.  Every color.  Every shape/size.  They even had a "make your own Lego person" bar.  Hello!  That's awesome!

With the exception of the items listed above I was just a tiny bit disappointed in the size and sculptures displayed in the store. I was expecting moooooore.  Why does FAO Schwartz seem to have a larger Lego department than the actual Lego store?

If you're in Rockefeller Centre you should totally go to the LEGO Store. But if you or your kids big time Lego-er's I also recommend you stop by FAO to get the whole Lego experience.
