Will Ferrell Themed Bar Opens on Lower East Side- Gothamist

Photos: Will Ferrell-Themed Bar "Stay Classy" Opens On The LES

Times have not been easy on high concept city establishments lately (R.I.P. Little Lebowski), but that hasn't stopped some pop culture-loving mavens from pursuing their dream of bringing a little more Will Ferrell into people's lives. Check out photos from "Stay Classy New York," the all-new Ferrell-themed bar now residing on the Lower East Side.
The bar, which is located at 174 Rivington Street, was started by Zach Neil & Brian Link, and serves as one giant, Catalina wine mixer-flavored love letter to the cinematic works of Ferrell. That includes everything from Megamind and Ron Burgundy posters to a quotes-saturated cocktails menu (Smelly Pirate Hooker, Milk Was A Bad Choice, You're My Boy Blue, Glass Case Of Emotion, etc).
Neil explained his vision for the bar to WPIX: "This bar is kind of like the place where a 35-or 40-year-old person could come and sit and not be intimidated by loud techno music but still be surrounded by things that are funny and ridiculous and kinda get it," he said. "That’s what Will Ferrell has always meant to us."
The bar officially opened its doors on October 1st, but they're still in the process of setting up all their Ferrell memorabilia—the real launch party is happening October 23rd, with an Anchorman-themed Halloween party. "Come as Ron Burgundy or a character from the movie get your first drink on the house! Best Ron Burgundy costume wins cash $$!" They have another special event on October 30th with a Talledega Nights-themed party—wear your best Nascar/Ricky Bobby attire, you also get a free drink on the house. You can find out more info on their Facebook page.
