New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says officials suspect a gas explosion killed one person and injured three others in Brooklyn.
More than 200 firefighters remain at the scene Saturday at a three-story building in the Borough Park neighborhood.
De Blasio says the incident "shows some signs of being gas-related."
The front of the building was blown into the street.
The mayor says police and fire marshals were still conducting an investigation.
Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro says the explosion apparently happened after a stove was disconnected.
Councilman Brad Lander says the woman who died was in her 60s and was living in a third-floor apartment in the building.
Two men and a 10-year-old boy walking by were injured. Their injuries are considered not life-threatening.
