Threats for pastor who rang bells for refugees

A pastor who was praised for his courage after he broke up a right-wing demonstration against refugees in Fehring, Styria by ringing his church bells loudly has since received threatening phone calls and emails as well as allegations that he caused some of the demonstrators to suffer from tinnitus.

Police in Lower Austria found around 60 migrants dangerously stranded on a motorway in Mödling district early on Thursday, and a group of 12 people walking along a railway line in Melk.

      A native Afghan who fled his homeland in 1994, Khaled Khoshdel immigrated to Vienna for a better life. He came with optimism and a culture he wanted to share with European people, which led him to open the only Afghan restaurant in Vienna, called Noosh.
