Watch Man Get Caught By a Drone Sunbathing on a Wind Turbine
Inside Edition
Good thing he kept his clothes on.
A Benedictine monk was caught sunbathing at the top of a 164-foot-tall wind turbine in Rhode Island by none other than a drone.
The incredible sight was captured by California pilot Kevin Miller as he toured the grounds of the Portsmouth Abbey School while on vacation.
"The guy must have been napping because he did not notice the drone for five or ten seconds. But once he heard it he sat up to take a look," Miller told the Daily Mirror.
Brother Joseph Byron, reached by the Providence Journal, said he was indeed startled by the sight while enjoying some peace and solitude.
It's a place he's retreated to for the last nine years after its 2006 construction, according to the school's website, which describes the turbine as standing a towering 240 feet from the ground to its highest 77-foot-long blade.
"It is not scary; it is peaceful and the views of the bay are spectacular," Byron told the paper. "I am not afraid of heights."

Brother Joseph Byron said he wasn't especially thrilled at being filmed while up there saying that he climbs to the top to get some peace and solitude.

In fact, the only thing unusual to him was being disturbed by the flying object — something he had never seen before.
"It was a little annoying," he confessed. "It seems you cannot go anywhere to get away anymore."
In a 1 1/2-minute video, Miller's drone is seen hovering around Byron who after nearly a minute of being stared at briefly shrugs his shoulders with his hands in the air.
"Upon landing he saw me bring the drone down and was leaning over the edge. I looked up and waved to him and he waved back," Miller said.
Byron said he’ll wait a while before going back up there again.
