Companies battled a rapidly deteriorating fire in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn this morning that called for a third alarm. Box 688 went out at 3:46 AM on the report of a vehicle that had crashed into a building on Dekalb Ave off Throop Ave. The burning car spread flames throughout the ground floor Chinese food restaurant. Battalion 57 special called an additional engine and truck on arrival, putting all companies to work. Heavy fire on the 1st floor extended to the floors above calling for a 2nd alarm at 4:02 AM, followed by a 3rd alarm just minutes later. The fire was placed Under Control at 4:53 AM.
