Madison Square is as great a cool and shady respite as ever, with a couple of big Art installations in place right now which seem to amuse people ( in a good sense)...
As you enter from the South you still discover the stately presence of William Seward, Governor of NY and later Lincoln's Secretary of State and the person responsible for the purchase of Alaska---which people called "Seward's Folly" and "Seward's Ice Box." Imagine it it were still part of Russia!
But then I discovered a Martial Arts match for which no reason was given...it amused people standing in line...for...
The Shake Shack!! Yes, still there and as popular as ever..
Not much else going on on a Sunday except some people with cute young children, and, of course, the Empire State Building visible through the trees, as it is just about everywhere in Midtown
