Bergdorf for MEN

I had a horrible disappointment here with pix I took of clothes in store windows, they ALL came out bad and I did not realize it at all...

Well, take it from me that the stuff in the Bergdorf's men store looks VERY snazzy.

I don't know if Bergdorf got the idea for this because of Saks Fifth Avenue Men's Store ( which used to set the pace for department store clothes for the well dressed man)..

Going to have to rely A LOT on what the Yelp reviews say...well, dammit again, there are no Yelp reviews of the Men's store, just the Women's ( which people like of course)

Let me try another review site...again I have to say "caveat emptor"

Top of the Designer Department Stores – I've been shopping here for years. I am not a "metrosexual" but I do like to dress well and notice the difference in response I get with women when I have a well made/tailored outfit on. My clothing budget varies so I am not in here weekly and as such the salespeople can be snooty and obviously try to make me buy more than I need. I hired an Image Consultant and she was able to help me discern what was really great and I got several bargains here this season as they (yes, Bergdorf) have been having great sales! Also, it's never overly crowded or unorganized which is a big plus for me.

Selection – Great Men's department. I rarely see sales worthy of being mentioned, but recently picked up a new suit that was amazing. A nice olive green, single breasted suit, with pleated pants. Sales associate was help full and answered all my questions. I will be back

Sartorial Excellence---Kiton/Brioni/John Lobb/Bontoni/Etc. – Simply the best men's store in New York City if not the country.

BG has great merchandising, brands, and knowledgeable sales consultants. You can find anything from a Kiton to a Brioni suit, to a John Lobb to a Bontoni shoe. It does not get any better than this in terms of sartorial excellence and style.

Reply to the comment below – Just posting to reply to the comment under mine, chrome hearts rings do that to you when you first get them, even if you got them at the chrome hearts store it would have been the same. I have several rings from them and they all did that the first day or two after wearing them. It will stop after a day. I dont know why they do that but its happend to me as well, i think it has to do with the silver or whatever but I have had my rings for yearts and they are great. If you wear them for a couple of days it wont happen anymore. You should have just kept them.

They are so phony, its a problem – I was in town on business and was in the market for some CHROME HEARTS gear. The actual CHROME HEARTS store was closed on sunday but they had a boutique at the Bergdorf's. The store itself is amazing and beautiful. Anyways in a matter of about 10 minutes, I had picked out 2 rings and a long sleeved t-shirt. Of course they were pleasent with a sale of $1,300 in that short of a time. I wore the rings out of the store and about 30 mins later at lunch decided to take them off. Both of my ring fingers were electric green and blue. I called them and they told me it was my body chemistry reacting to there sterling. thats fine but i was not going to rock rings that left me friggin green. Oh yeah, the sales woman pretended she didnt remember selling them to me as well! I had to go to the customer service office and sign all these documents and I even got put in a book of people that return items. Honestly, I really wanted the rings and I only had them for 45 mins. tops! It was quite the procedure and I will never shop there again.

Beautiful building, beautiful clothes--and it's all for men. – The Scene
This regal emporium is home to the finest men's threads in the world, and you can feel it when you walk in the door. Let's put it this way: Bathrooms are still called lounges here. Hobnob with natty older fellas in bowties as you cruise through the mini boutiques organized by designer, just like the women's store across the street.

The Goods
From James Perse T-shirts to custom-tailored suits and formal wear, Bergdorf's has everything to outfit preppy golfers and glam Gucci boys alike. Find designer collections and sportswear on the third level (think Marc Jacobs, Theory, Paul Smith et al), classic suits, coats and sportswear on the second. Scoop up Bergdorf house label separates and accessories like coveted diamond aluminum Locman watches or smooth shades by Armani on the first.

The Best a Man Can Get – Simply the best men's store. Everything is top quality. Some say that once you shop at B.G.'s you'll never be able to shop anywhere else; I concur.

Sales People Wonderful – Bergdorff's has the most polite and knowledgable sales people. Jack was so informative and accomodating. I was not even dressed nice and they all treated me with respect.

The best of the best – I wrote a review in August 2002 about the salesperson who greeted me by name on my second visit - hadn't been back to New York until March 2005, and when I saw him then he not only remembered my name, but remembered what I had bought and asked if I still was enjoying it!

There are indeed ridiculously expensive items (tables of $300 ties and $1200 sweaters), but they carry a selection of the regular Ralph Lauren and have a house brand that's not much more expensive. Most importantly, the staff treat you the same whether you're buying a $75 Polo shirt you could get a Macy's, or a $5,000 cashmere overcoat.

Stitch in Time – Wonderful seasonal selections. Bespoke not, but speaks volumes none the less.
