Is that a Maple?

Aha, is this a Maple tree I see on the side road by the Kips Bay Plaza strip mall? I never pay that much attention to what kinds of trees I see here in the City, I know the classic London Place trees and the Pin Oaks and Gingkos when I see them, but beyond that they are just....trees.

I wonder if this should bother me or not.
