These kids in the pink shirts all had "sponsored by...." emblazoned on the back...so I wonder what that means-- was this a charity event ( linked to some "walk for something"?) or just a bunch of kids whose outing had sponsors?
This was all happening so fast and being reluctant as I am to ask people too much in New York, I did not inquire of anyone, so it will remain a colorful little mystery.
