Actor Don Johnson left his cultural mark on the 1980s through his role as Detective Sonny Crocket on "Miami Vice." The show was so popular and his character so prominent, he defined that era of TV and entertainment.

In the years since, he's taken on more complex roles, from a the father in "Eastbound and Down" to the plantation owner Big Daddy in "Django Unchained."
Now he's back on the big screen with the release of his newest movie, "Cold in July," a crime story set in Texas in the late 1980s. Johnson is part of a blockbuster cast that includes Sam Sheppard and Michael C. Hall from the series "Dexter." He joins The Takeaway to weigh in on his new film and his future career plans.
