Fire officials: 1 dead, 2 firefighters hurt in Bronx fire

KINGSBRIDGE, The Bronx — Fire officials say a person has died after a house caught fire in the Bronx.
The vacant two-story home on West Kingsbridge Road caught fire around 10:30 p.m.
Firefighters found the body in the front of the house. The person, believed to have been a squatter, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The blaze was extinguished around midnight. Jonas says two firefighters suffered minor injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
The city medical examiner is expected to perform an autopsy.
