PORTSMOUTH, VA, -- The Coast Guard rescued a man about 200 miles from the North Carolina coast who had been missing at sea for more than two months.
The video above shows a Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew rescuing 37-year-old Louis Jordan, whose family reported him missing on Jan. 29, the Fifth Coast Guard District said in a news release.
Listen: Louis Jordan speaks to his father, Frank Jordan, for the first time since being rescued.

The German-flagged Houston Express cargo ship spotted Jordan and his sailboat, Angel, around 1:30 p.m. Thursday and alerted the Coast Guard. At around 3:40 p.m., the helicopter crew pulled Jordan to safety.

Jordan suffered a shoulder injury and dehydration and was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. He survived on fish and rain water while at sea.
The details of Jordan's whereabouts since January and how he might have survived for more than two months at sea were still unclear, said Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Ryan Doss.
"We don't know where he capsized," Doss said. "We really won't know what happened to him out there until we talk to him" at length.
A search was begun on Feb. 8. but theCoast Guard abandoned its efforts after 10 days, said Marilyn Fajardo, a spokeswoman for the Coast Guard's 7th District. Despite reports from other sailors claiming to have seen Jordan's sailboat, none of the sightings were confirmed and the case was suspended.
The Coast Guard said Jordan didn't file a "float plan," the nautical equivalent of a flight plan, to determine his route or destination, and Fajardo said there wasn't enough information to narrow down his whereabouts.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
