But since I have never sampled their wares, just admired their storefront, (which I feel is really cool)...once again I go to Yelp...by the way, I had no idea this was in a "Yelp top 100" list place thing...they are not giving me any money for running this, I must stress

Welcome to Yooglers, your childhood dream house with lots of colorful walls, decorations, flying cows, pop-tarts and cereal. Throw in a plethora of frozen yogurt flavors to choose from (Self-Serve) and toppings and you have yourself a happy, soothing place you don't want to leave.
I'm not sure what's not to like about Yooglers. People who are picky on flavors and toppings will have plenty to choose from as well as samples. I usually stick with the original tart and can say it's just as good (or even better) as Pinkberry or Red Mango. I usually don't write about franchise establishments but Yooglers needs to be in consideration with one of the top froyo joints out there The unique theme (cows and a kid-friendly environment) of this place and the recent opening of another trending froyo store is what prompted me. How many places do you know can pull off astroturf chairs and flooring?.
Likewise, this is a great place to bring your family, date or just a couple of friends because of the clean, cute, friendly atmosphere. It's also conveniently located just south of Union Square and a couple blocks from East Village.
So let your first few steps into Yoogler reach your inner happy child, and use your creativity and imagination to create the most awesome froyo you can build (or that your wallet can buy) and have a fun time. -

You walk into Yooglers, and it's like walking into what you wanted your house to look like when you were 5 years old (or at least it's what I wanted).
Neon pink and orange walls that curve and lead to the long fro-yo wall and an indented cove to sit in the back that's covered in astroturf. Fun! The wall is painted with chalkboard paint to draw on.
The ice cream flavors are pretty original too. The Snickerdoodle flavor is AmAzInG! Delicious with marshmallow sauce and don't forget to add broken Cherry Pop-Tarts to the mix!
Tell me these flavors don't sound like SO much fun:
- OMG Maple Bacon Donut Frozen Yogurt
- Yummy Sea Salt Caramel Pretzel Frozen Yogurt
- I Love NY Cheesecake Frozen Yogurt

It's super convenient to have another frozen yogurt place in the area. My friend and I dorm near Union Square, so Yooglers just happened to be a very convenient location. What drew me to this place was how bright and colorful it is. As soon as i stepped inside, I literally felt like a kid all over again. They also have a room in the back where you can draw with chalk! So cute!
Anyways, one thing I admire about this place is the number of toppings. HOLY MOLY. So. many. toppings (I think more toppings than 16 Handles!). As for the flavors, I was a little eh. I ended up getting the cookie dough + mango flavors, but I think the rest of the flavors were either a little too sweet or just weren't that great. One thing that captured my attention was that they have PINK MOCHI. I am obsessed with mochi and the color pink. Yep, you can guess what happened next :)
The workers here are very nice and friendly, which is always a plus. This place is also pretty reasonable in terms of price.
Even though I like Yooglers and I think it definitely channels my inner kid, I'm gonna stick with either Pinkberry or 16 Handles. Just my overall opinion! -

I was excited to see a real contender to steal the crown from 16 Handles as the best frozen yogurt in the city, but Yooglers doesn't quite measure up.
Yes, they have even more flavors (20 altogether), and yes, they have an entire Cereal Bar of nearly every cereal you could think of putting on your yogurt, as well as huge pieces of Pop Tarts (kinda weird), but the quality of the yogurt just doesn't seem as good.
They have the most interesting flavors of any yogurt place I've seen (Maple Bacon Donut!), and the best variety, but again, most of these flavors have a little too much of that iciness, and aren't as creamy and smooth as some of the better places, like 16 Handles.
Also, they have that foolishness of one employee painfully doling out minuscule samples to the waiting customers. Seriously, get with it like 16 Handles learned, and just leave the people to sample their own yogurt - 9 times out of 10, people are not like me and they will just take a sample or two instead of eating a pound or two worth before purchasing yogurt, and it just makes it much more pleasant and efficient.
I do really like the place though - the yogurt still does taste really good and it's in a great, convenient location a few blocks south of Union Square. The variety of toppings does beat 16 Handles, and is probably on par with YoArt in the Plaza Food Hall, so if you like getting really crazy with putting lots of random stuff in your yogurt, then this is the place for you.
I will definitely be back frequently (though they unfortunately have the now antiquated punch card loyalty system as opposed to the snazzy electronic card-based systems most other places have started to adopt). I'm sure I'll be punching that 10th spot to get $4 of free yogurt very shortly.-
