People seeking the outdoors for lunch in Midtown

On a sunny day in June, lunchtime on Friday finds all kinds of people enjoying one of the many simple plaza areas as a spot to eat their lunch. They seem very happy just to be outside and away from the pressures of the their stores and offices. 

Lots of people just enjoy sitting around outdoors in Manhattan and doing what they call "people watching." I have only done this when I HAD to wait outdoors somewhere and while it was not unpleasant I did not find it any big thrill either. After all, I am outdoors in this congested area of the City all the time, and have on many days a real love-hate relationship with it, even in the nicest weather....
