Fashions in design change, and this sculpture in front of a luxury apartment building on Second Avenue in East Murray Hill, which seemed radical to some extent when it was built, may seem like an antique in the not too distant future...
I have grown to like it, actually,--its stainless steel structure which they are always polishing and the flower beds that change with the seasons and the fountains that flank it ....all very nice.
I like the way the reflective colors in the polished steel change with the light at different times of the day...
You know, I really should note here who the sculptor was but the name escapes me now. Well, that is what happens with most public sculpture anyway unless the artist involved achieves superstar fame
