EMS Appreciation Day at CitiField
On Sunday, May 17, the New York Mets held their 12th Annual EMS Day at CitiField in Queens. The FDNY ceremonial unit participated opening events, EMT Jeff Samerson sang the national anthem and FDNY's new life safety education mascot, Siren, spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Met.
EMS Week is an annual week-long series of events designed to promote public safety among all New Yorkers, attract potential EMS recruits and celebrate the life-saving efforts of more than 3,000 members of FDNY's Emergency Medical Service.
