MACEDONIA'S CRISIS AFFECTING ENTIRE REGION, ZAEV TELLS BULGARIA PM
The political crisis into which Macedonia has plunged over the past years is affecting neighboring states as well, the country's opposition leader has said while on a Friday visit to Sofia. Zaev met PM Boyko Borisov in the morning at the Council of Ministers, telling journalists afterwards that he would like to extend his gratitude to Sofia authorities for putting in effort to help find a way out of the political turmoil. Bulgaria, "a big friend of Macedonia", has to be informed of opportunities to find a peaceful solution, Focus News Agency quotes Zaev as saying. "Macedonia has got our support for joining the EU and NATO. We insist very much that the political crisis be resolved in a democratic way," PM Borisov has told private national bTV station. "We are categorically against statements on Macedonia's federalization," he added, referring to suggestions by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that Bulgaria and Albania might be seeking to partition the country. read more BULGARIAВЂ™S PM: OVER 10 000 JOBS WERE CREATED IN PLANTS OPENED IN PAST FEW DAYS Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov boasted that over 10 000 jobs had been created in plants opened over the past few days in the country. Amendments put forward by Minister Hristo Ivanov include changes to the structure and organization of the Supreme Judicial Council (VSS), a top watchdog often labeled "the government of the judiciary". read more BLAST ROCKS UKRAINE PRESIDENT'S CONFECTIONERY CHAIN STORE A blast occurred late on Thursday in a Kiev store of Roshen, a confectionery chain owned by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, police say. No-one was injured after a bomb went off in the store at about 23:00 local time. An improvised explosive device was used in the attack, Oleksandr Tereshchuk, who heads the Kiev police department, is quoted by TASS as telling journalists from Ukraine's public TV station. Tereshchuk has called the incident "an act of hooliganism" and has ruled out any terror link. Roshen is one of the world's large confectionery manufacturing groups, also having production facilities in Lithuania and Russia. The film Viktoria by director and writer Maya Vitkova has been selected for a US release by the company Big World Pictures, located in Brooklyn, New York, the Hollywood Reporter announced.

BULGARIA HAS SECOND HIGHEST NUMBER OF SMOKERS IN EU
Bulgaria has the second highest number of smokers in Europe and ranks sixth in the world in this respect.
According to the latest Eurobarometer, which was released on Friday, 35 % of Bulgarians smoke, being preceded only by the Greeks, where the share of the smoking population is 38 %. read more

BULGARIAN POLICE ARRESTS SOFIA STORE ARMED ROBBERS
The armed robbers of the Sofia store have now been arrested. The announcement was made by store owner Mihail Rusinov on his Facebook profile.

BULGARIA POLICE DETAIN 2 ENDANGERED TURTLE EATERS Two Bulgarian citizens who cooked 17 endangered turtles and ate them have been arrested in the country's southern town of Krumovgrad, police say. The detainees, aged 59 and 26 respectively, have been charged with trying to exterminate an endangered species, according to private national TV7 channel. No details about the exact species were immediately available. They told police they were very hungry and felt an urge to cook the animals.
