First, want to commend the people responsible for improving signage in the Park so much...maps are all over as well as directions as to how to get somewhere.
And so, the intrepid photographer marches out into the Parkland, looking for scenic splendor or at least variety...
And, as usual, finds a call box to use in case of some emergency...which. as usual, looks like it has a snowball's chance in hall of actually functioning properly..
Up and around all sorts of paths and gravelly roads, under and over bridges...
To see the vistas of the City across the Reservoir...Fifth Avenue...
And far off Midtown Manhattan...
And to capture more of the towers that rise up on the West Edge of the Park--these being the El Dorado aparment buildings...which for some reason the NY Times had to report that the people living there supposedly gave more money to Barack Obama's Presidential campaign than from any other address in the City ( how do they know these things?)...
He may get up to 105th Street and the Conservatory Gardens, where the flowers are not really doing all that much, to his disappointment...
And has to use this photo of his files of the Three Graces Fountain, which in reality on this hot day looks pretty ill...barely any water flowing...
And, if the photographer is anything like me, sees the Museum of the City of New York across Fifth Avenue and decides to call back there another day...
And finally home to his penthouse apartment high above Fifth Avenue where he could have seen all this without leaving its air conditioned comfort ( as you may have guessed, this last part is sheer fantasy).
