Babylon Hookah Lounge, etc.--Ethnic Restaurants May Not Thrill Zagat, but they draw their audience

Cluster of small restaurants on South Side of East 34th Street East of Third Avenue all seem to be have been built by same company, all run by Middle Eastern people of some kind...

The Babylon Hookah Lounge and the adjacent places may not score high with Zagat or Yelp, but they are certainly popular with ethnic crowd they are aimed at..

Just a second, let me see if Yelp or Zagat even has something on Babylon...

Yes, and it gets a real range of responses, from those who love it and those who hate it..

I went to Babylon Hookah Lounge yesterday for a happy hour with a group.

Here's the rundown:

- no cover
- quick entry/no fuss
- full bar available (drinks were half off during happy hour)
- nice laid back ambiance
- staff is friendly and helpful
- hookahs last a long time
- you'll get a buzz off the mojito flavored hookah alone (just saying)
- average bar food available to snack on
- drinks are decent
- great for big groups

I had a good time out at Babylon and had no idea this hidden gem was located in Murray Hill. I plan on coming back here with friends over the course of this summer.
