MY NEW VIDEO: September 11 Ceremonies at Firemen's Memorial

When I set out to make this video, it was going to be at different places around Manhattan to show what was going on on this September 11-- such as Times Square, Central Park, Eng 16 L7 down in Kips Bay, etc.

When I went over to the Firemen's Memorial on Riverside Drive I saw the Marine Corps Band Contingent and soon got drawn into the ceremony more a participant than as a reporter.

Thus, I did not shoot as much as I might otherwise have..

I found the reading of the names of the 343 Firefighters extremely moving, but I did not tape this...

Heroes like Cpt. Louis Modafferi are remembered, like the others, with items such as these memorial bracelets..

The 343 ...more have since died of Sept 11 related causes as was noted at the Firemen's Memorial Ceremony...

This September 11 has grabbed me like none since the first one, and I am not sure why. Maybe because it KEEPS GOING ON and the pressing need to make the Zadroga Act Permanent.

And I am so tired of hearing the ( now fading, thank God) arguments of those same greedy, stingy little people who rant on about the Zadroga Act being " A New Entitlement"-- what did that one fat cat say about it, something like the word compassion being " a backdoor way of saying they want to take more money out of my pocket." 

Oh great, some Wall Street manipulator type or one of the many other somehow legal con artists and representatives of the grossest forms of cupidity no matter what the human cost to others, ignoring the incredible bravery and sacrifice of the best people among us, who would toil away at great risk to themselves not just in a special emergency but as a chosen way of life, --

Just think, the mere recognition of the hard earned needs of all these heroic people are some kind of bleeding heart "Entitlement" at the expense of those whose avarice has been shown to know no bounds, and -- well, how can these people look at themselves in the mirror in the morning? I guess because they have become practiced in a special sort of self serving, preening mirror gazing that they confuse with " The Principles of the Founders" and all sorts of other rot.

NOTE: Extremely sorry I referred to Capt William Burke Jr as Lt Burke here at one point..even more embarrassed because I have read of his brother's efforts to get his name and rank noted elsewhere and am in full sympathy with him of course...
