Check out the Tunnel 2 Towers run this past Sunday. All of these participants followed in the footsteps of FF Stephen Siller, Squad 1, who was determined to make it to the WTC on 9/11/01, and nothing was stopping him.
When the 1st plane struck, Stephen Siller was off duty. He responded to his firehouse in Brooklyn, but Squad 1 was already on their way. So he grabbed his gear and went in his own vehicle. But when he arrived at the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, it was closed due to everyone leaving Manhattan. He ditched his vehicle, grabbed his gear, and ran in the opposite direction of everyone; towards danger.

October 4th is the Strides for the Center by the Johnny Mac Foundation. John was a FDNY Firefighter who died in the line of duty from illness from working at the WTC on/after 9/11/01. John dedicated his whole life to helping others and he paid the ultimate price. His family is working to keep the memory of our hero alive by building a community center in his name. So please mark your calanders! It's more than just a run, it's good times with great people. Live entertainment, refreshments, awards, prizes. Everyone is welcome!
