My Dept... Fresno Fire, CA has gotten A LOT better regarding / getting us the gear we need... and insisting that it is cleaned properly / thoroughly with professional extractors.
A goal of Fresno Fire Dept is to have an extractor at every single station. Right now there is one per 4-5 fire stations.
My station has one. Others send their turn-outs in to us to get cleaned... for me it's something I'm glad to do for the brothers and sisters !

  • Mike Romo When I started, I had a naive idea that it would be a combination of Emergency and Backdraft.

I wish I knew then what I know now. The frequent fliers. The drunks. The ridiculous call outs by PD to "check them out". The two week onset sick calls and a

Community members who don't agree with full time positions and think its a waste of money. Letting your kids down because you will miss a ball game. Worried families praying for your safety while you are away. That's only a small portion...

As a witness he/she quickly learns that Fire’s sole aim to devour and destroy.

In my last post the term "job security" seems to really bother some people.
I sincerely didn't mean to offend.
On the crews I have worked and been a part of, when we go on accidents / calls resulting from stupid, reckless or inattentive actions as a coping mechanism and as a statement of truth we often say "job security"

basically means "I've got your back."
