Preserving Evita´s Legacy
The Museo Evita was created in 2002 as part of the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Históricas Eva Perón, operating under the auspices of the National Secretariat of Culture, with Evita’s great-niece María Cristina Alvarez Rodriguez as president.
The Fundación de Investigaciones Históricas Eva Perón (FIHEP), founded by Evita’s family in the 1990’s, has merged into the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Históricas Eva Perón.
The INIHEP continues the study of Eva Perón’s role in Argentine history, functioning as a center for research, an archive for documents and oral histories, and a publication center for investigative studies.
The English language Eva Perón Historical Research Foundation continues to work with researchers of the INIHEP and the Museo Evita to preserve Evita’s authentic historical legacy. Visit MUSEO EVITA.
HOMAGE
As the invaluable and infatigable president of the Evita Museum Association, MARIA CRISTINA BANFI (mother of Cristina Alvarez Rodríguez) worked tirelessly to honor Evita’s legacy and make her true story known. She will be greatly missed.

Welcome to the Evita Perón Historical Research website. Here you will find information about the life of Evita Perón as well as the work she accomplished through the Fundación Eva Perón.
In seven short years, through legislation and construction, Evita improved the lives of the poor and the workers of Argentina forever.
For an overview of Evita's achievements and an explanation of some controversial issues, please click on LEGACY.
Evita saved the lives of thousands of poor children and the EDUCATION they received in her Home Schools, the Children's City, the Students' City, University Cities and through the One Thousand Schools Plan offered them a key to a better future.
Evita created a safety net so that all citizens would have access to quality health care. To learn about the revolution in the treatment of the sick (hospitals, polyclinics, school of nursing, health care train), visit HEALTH AND SAFETY NET.
Evita assisted homeless families by offering shelter, education and employment; senior citizens were offered homes where they could live productive and interesting lives; working women alone in Buenos Aires found an attractive home and company. Visit SOCIAL WORK to discover how she met these needs.
