Museum of the Berlin Fire Department
The Fire Brigade Museum Berlin looks back on a long history of development.
After several attempts, historically relevant material in the form of documents, photos and exhibits to preserve them for posterity, it is the Berlin Fire Department succeeded in 1983, setting up a museum. Here the public will be presented the technical achievements of firefighters from the last 150 years.
Divided into different exhibition areas is the Fire Museum Berlin great popularity among the visitors. Reinforced come nurseries and schools and associations and groups operating in the museum and take in the pictures, writings and exhibits to visit the and are sometimes even try.
Guided tours include not only an interesting trip through the history of the fire department also video presentation. With the kids firefighters songs are sung occasionally.
In addition to the displayed exhibits, the Fire Brigade Museum Berlin has more than 20 historic vehicles and trailers, to encourage the development of fire service history can be illustrated. The vehicles are not for lack of space in the exhibition. They are housed in various Berlin fire stations and therefore not visible to the public.
