Below: Walk through main upper portion of Tudor City escarpment where the parks are and the views of 42nd Street in the late afternoon haze ( Chrysler Bldg barely visible), and, to the East, the United Nations.
Don't seem to be any tourists about today, just locals...
In fact, when a friend of mine visited from Chicago two years ago, he hung out in the Tudor City Park before walking down to the coffee shop where we were to meet. He is a set designer and tells me he just has a natural affinity for anyplace that looks like a stage set!
The only time Tudor City looks like a stage set to me is around Christmas time, when they have all their little decorative touches in place...
First I am going to see if there is anything especially new at Tudor City, and , if not, maybe just run an edited version of the Wikipedia article on it.
Some of the really early history of the place is pretty fascinating, I remember that...everyone though this guy French was nuts when he built Tudor City over in the shadow of what used to be I believe a power plant and slaughterhouses or something at the East River ( all cleared after World War II to be the site for the United Nations). When Tudor City was built, therefore, there were no scenic views to the East at all...and the tall buildings of Long Island City across the river have just come in the last 20 years, especially the last seven or eight.
Well, here are some upcoming events
