Dear FireRescue1 Subscriber,
This past week I attended a symposium at the National Fire Academy. I arrived at night, dropped my bags and wandered the grounds. With no one else around, I lingered at the fallen firefighters' memorial. There are plaques for each year that list the names of the firefighters who died in the line of duty — 2001 has two: One for those who died in the terrorist attacks and one for everyone else.
It is a stark reminder that we can both never forget those we lost and never stop learning from the lessons 9/11 taught us. I believe this special edition newsletter helps on both accounts.
