Dear FireChief Subscriber, While tragic, Nicole Mittendorff's suicide has had the effect of forcing the fire service into an overdue and uncomfortable conversation about how we treat our fellow firefighters. Even if it touches fewer than one percent of the fire service, bullying and harassment needs to be rooted out, halted, understood and prevented.
